Meet the Executives

Chris Loebsack

Managing Principal

Chris is the founder and Managing Principal of the eviction-services law firm, Loebsack & Brownlee, PLLC.  Chris is a 1996 graduate of Duke University School of Law and a 1993 graduate of Clemson University. Chris lives in Charlotte, NC and his Firm provides services throughout the Carolinas, Georgia, and Virginia.

Chris’ legal practice focuses primarily on representing national Multifamily & Single Family Operator property management firms, but he is also a Certified Mediator. Chris has been named to the NC SuperLawyers list each year from 2016 to present.

Finally, Chris volunteers much of his spare time in service of several Apartment Industry entities. He is a past member of the Apartment Association of North Carolina Board; he is a 2024 member of the Wilmington Apartment Association Board; he was a member of the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association Board from 2017-2020; and since 2015 has been a member of the Clemson University Humanities Advancement Board, of which he is currently the Chair.

Jared Schmidt

Supervising Partner

Jared Schmidt who is the Supervising Partner at Loebsack & Brownlee has been a part of the team since the very beginning, Jared started as an associate attorney in 2013 and now serves as the Supervising Partner of the firm. Before joining Loebsack & Brownlee, Jared practiced law in his home state of Ohio. Jared enjoys having the opportunity to travel the state and handle hearings, various client and Apartment Association events and regularly instructs on a wide variety of Industry topics such as Fair Debt Collection, Fair Housing, and CAPS and CAM legal modules, and Domestic Violence. He is a die-hard (and long-suffering) Cincinnati sports fan, and along with his wife Kris, he spends most of his free time entertaining the many and various demands of his daughters.

Hans Dara

Partner

Hans Dara is a Partner with Loebsack & Brownlee, PLLC where he has focused on representing professionally managed property management companies in North Carolina and Georgia. Hans has been with L&B since 2014 and is based outside the firm’s Atlanta office. When he’s not in court, at the office, or attending various apartment association events, Hans enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Shanae Auguste

Partner

Shanae Auguste is a licensed attorney in NC and VA. For the past 4.5 years, she has been a Partner with Loebsack & Brownlee PLLC, which is a multi-state eviction law firm. Shanae has practiced landlord-tenant law for the past eleven years. In her free time, you can find Shanae obsessing over all things Tar Heels and Red Sox!

Michael Harrington

Partner

Michael graduated high school when MTV still showed videos. At 23 Michael joined the US Air Force and had a great time traveling the world, fixing awesome airplanes and saluting random people. In 13 years as a flight mechanic Michael visited over 40 countries, but mostly saw runways and fuel trucks.

In 2005 Michael then graduated from the University of North Carolina (Greensboro), double majoring in Information & Operations Management and International Business with a minor in Economics. Michael then graduated from the Charleston School of Law in 2011. Michael has since practiced extensively in landlord-tenant law, Veterans’ issues, construction law, corporate contracts, employment law, and has put his time in with family law and will not do that again.

He is admitted to the South Carolina Bar, the United States Supreme Court, is accredited to practice before the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association and is a state-certified Family Court mediator. He is a 2018 graduate of the South Carolina Bar’s Leadership Academy, is an active member of the Charleston Apartment Association and a 2024 graduate of their LEAD program.

In his rare down time, he has hiked the path of the Battle of the Bulge (but in summer), climbed Mt. Fuji, and driven at speed on Virginia International Raceway and the Nurburgring (nur burgring) Nordschleife (nord shlee feh). He has called the Charleston area home on and off since 1995 with brief stints in North Carolina and Japan.

Jessica Lineberry

Partner

A member of the Loebsack & Brownlee team since close to the very beginning, Jessica started as an associate attorney in 2015 and now serves as an SC Partner of the firm. Prior to going to law school, Jessica worked in law enforcement for two years but decided her talents would be used on the lawyer side. Jessica enjoys having the opportunity to travel and teach about various legal topics concerning evictions. During her free time, she works as a professional actor and circus performer (she eats fire and is an aerialist) so she stays busy.

Michael Bell

Director of Client Relations

Michael thrives on providing exceptional customer service, creating magical moments whenever possible, and combining his creativity and passion for technology to educate clients on processes and procedures. He leads a dedicated team of seven and is also a member of the firm’s executive leadership team where he helps guide strategic initiatives and drive goals.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and English Education. Though his initial career aspiration was to become a teacher, his professional journey led him to his current role at Loebsack & Brownlee, where he has been since the firm’s inception. Prior to L&B, Michael gained valuable experience in client relations at the Brownlee Law Firm (now Brownlee Whitlow & Praet) and in his previous career in Hospital Communications at the Medical University of South Carolina.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Michael is actively involved with the Charleston Apartment Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors as co-chair of the Education Committee. His contributions have been recognized with awards such as Board Member of the Year and Supplier Partner of the Year. Michael also holds the Certified Apartment Supplier certification from the National Apartment Association Education Institute.

Michael has been married for over 30 years to his wife, Tara, a Registered Nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina. Although Michael will tell you that he prefers to be called Michael rather than Mike, that changed in late 2022 when he became PopPop to his granddaughter, Gwenyth. An avid coffee enthusiast and craft beer aficionado, Michael enjoys spending his leisure time vacationing at Disney World or exploring America’s National Parks. Growing up in Guam as the son of a United States Air Force serviceman, he developed a passion for travel, and has visited 49 out of the 50 states as well as several countries across the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Allison Cable

Controller

Allison Cable serves as the Controller at Loebsack and Brownlee, joining the team in 2023 as the Accounts Payable Manager where she had the opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals and other valued vendors. With over a decade of experience in accounting, Allison previously held the role of Controller at a national corporation as well as Staff Accountant for a CPA firm specializing in small business accounting. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys spending quality time with her son, reading, traveling, and seeking new, enriching experiences.

Michelle O’Brien

Director of Operations

Michelle O’Brien is a seasoned professional with a track record of almost two decades of experience in the multifamily industry. Having spent a significant portion of her career in the multifamily sector, Michelle possesses an in-depth understanding of the industry’s nuances and trends. Her expertise spans across various roles, allowing her to have developed a comprehensive skill set that drives success in her current position.

Prior to her current role, Michelle served as a valuable asset at a third-party property management firm as a Regional Vice President, where she worked on consulting for new development projects, providing expert insights and strategies to ensure operational excellence. Her efforts in team building and operations played a vital role in the firm’s success.

Recognized for her exceptional leadership abilities, Michelle has a proven track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams. Her strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and inspire others has resulted in improved productivity, employee satisfaction, and overall operational efficiency. She is skilled at fostering a positive work environment where collaboration and innovation thrive.

As a Director of Operations at Loebsack & Brownlee, PLLC, Michelle continues to drive growth and success within the organization. She is known for her ability to implement effective operational processes. Michelle currently holds multiple board of director seats at her local and state apartment associations, the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association and the Apartment Association of North Carolina. These positions allow her to contribute her expertise and insights to shape industry standards and drive positive change.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys her family, the great outdoors and playing Pickleball.

With a background in multifamily, strong team-building skills, and a focus on operations management, Michelle is a respected leader in her field. She is committed to driving success, enhancing operational efficiency, and making a positive impact on the industry.
