October 4:
This will be our last update on this Hurricane Helene page. We encourage all of our clients to continue checking local reports and following the directions of your elected officials.
As courts in Western North Carolina slowly reopen, we will continue our best efforts to have cases rescheduled as quickly as possible.
Regardless of State, if your property has been affected by the storm, please be sure to read the important bulletin that we sent out to our clients on the morning of October 4. You may also click here to read a copy of the article in our FAQ section.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out via our Client Contact Form.
September 30 Update
Many counties remain closed and will remain closed for the foreseeable future. Before you try to go to the courthouse, please check with your local authorities and with our team to be sure. Above all else, stay safe and do not risk going where it is not safe. We will continue to coordinate with the courts to reschedule cases as required and will update the system as soon as we have new dates and times.

September 27 Update
As many of you experienced, Hurricane Helene packed quite a punch and she is still affecting much of Georgia, South Carolina, and Central to Western North Carolina. Please be safe and use your best judgment when deciding whether or not you should travel to court. Also, please check the links below (our apologies that Georgia still has not updated their website), your local county websites, local news, and social media to monitor court closures.
Also, please understand that several of our offices are without power and/or internet, and many of our team members who are working from home, for their safety, don’t have power or internet either, so we’re doing our best to recover and assist you as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we are weathering this with you.
September 26 Update
Georgia still has not activated their statewide closure page, so please be sure to check your local news and social media for any notifications of court closures in your area.
Also, North Carolina has started closing counties as well, so please continue to check the links below as well as follow the direction of your local authorities.
September 25 Update
Based on the latest reports from the NOAA, we expect that parts of Georgia and South Carolina are going to be affected by the approaching Hurricane. We’ve already received word that Troupe County, GA will be closed on Friday and we export to hear of more closings as the storm approaches and possibly after the storm passes, if there is damage.
PLEASE CHECK THE LINKS BELOW FOR YOUR STATE TO SEE IF YOUR COURTHOUSE IS OPEN.
If your county is affected, we will contact the clerks of court to reschedule cases as quickly as possible after they have reopened. We ask that you do not contact the courts on your own but allow us to coordinate that so that nothing falls through the cracks.
We ask for and appreciate your patience as we work through the process. We will work as expeditiously as possible, but it sometimes takes several days because the courts are overwhelmed with phone calls and communications. Once cases have been rescheduled, we will update the eviction portal and the system will send out email updates that evening.
We thank you for your continued trust and for your business.

Theoretically, this website above for Georgia will go live when they post official updates. - North Carolina – https://www.nccourts.gov/closings

PLEASE NOTE: We have heard and also experienced that not all courts notify the Administrative Office of Courts so the websites above might not be updated. If you find court closure notifications on your local news, media, or even the court facebook or other social media pages, please forward to our Support Team so that we may verify and include on this page as well.
